The Ceremony

Picture
I HATE the canopy but it shows a great beach location.
We definitely want our ceremony on the beach with a canopy that has sheer white organza and covered in the flowers used throughout the wedding. In St. Lucia in order for it to be legal the ceremony has to happen before sunset. In April sunset happens at 6:19pm, a ceremony start time at 4:00-4:30pm is ideal in order to leave enough time to get other photos during sunset and before the sun goes down.

Ceremony Beverage Table

We really want our guests to be hydrated while out in the sun! We want to have glass apothecary beverage dispensers filled with cucumber water, lavendar infused lemonade, and champagne (with and without berries in it) set up off to the side.

Fans, Starfish, and Rose Petals!

We definitely are going to have palm fans for all of our guests! I found this great idea at www.shorechic.com. We're going to wrap the handle in satin ribbon and attach the program to it. They will preassemble them for you or you can DIY. We are going to attach these gorgeous silk purple orchids I found on www.save-on-crafts.com. We are also going to have 3 rows of 4 chairs and attach HUGE starfish with either purple ribbon or natural raffia. We're also going to have tons of rose petals in orange and hot pink (circus or chicago peace, pictured below) down the aisle.

Unity Ceremony - Sand

I love this idea and I can't wait to do it. I found this passage at a fellow knotties bio but I can't remember who. If it was you and you would like credit please email me and I will give you credit ASAP!!

Zach and Kristen, May your love always be as constant as the never-ending waves.
Flowing endlessly from the depths of the sea as the waters touch and nourish the many shores of the earth, may love be as moving as the sea between the shores of your souls.
just as there will never be a morning without the ocean's flow, there will never be a day without your love for each other.
You have just sealed your relationship by the giving & receiving of rings, this beautiful union is symbolized through the combining of these two individual jars of sand.

The first jar represents you, Kristen, in all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be.
The other jar represents you, Zach, in all that you were, all that you are, and all that you will ever be.
Each one holds its own unique beauty, strength, and character.
They can stand on their own and be whole, without the need of any thing else.
However, when these two are blended together, they create and entirely new and extraordinarily more intricate entity.
Each grain of sand brings to the mixture a lasting beauty that forever enriches the combination.
When you pour the sands into this common container, it symbolizes the union of your two lives.

Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual jars, so will your marriage be a molding of two individual personalities, bonded together, forming one heart, one love.
The life that each of you experienced now individually, will hereafter be inseparably united.
For the two shall become one.

I really love this vase and the sand colors. I would just want to have them engraved. the left one with my name or initial, the middle one with our monogram or names, date, and location, and the right vase with Zach's name or first initial

These are the engraved ones I love. They are at www.beachthemeweddingshop.com

Readings

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves."
-- 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

From On Relationship

Love is something that cannot be cultivated; love is not a thing to be bought by the mind...Love comes into being darkly, unknowingly, fully, when we understand this whole process of relationship. Then the mind is quiet, it does not fill the heart with the things of the mind, and therefore that which is love can come into being.

Love is both personal and impersonal, is both the one and the many. It is like the flower that has perfume; you can smell it or you can pass it by. That flower is for everybody and, for the one who takes the trouble to breathe it deeply and look at it, a great delight.

-- J. Krishnamurti

Prayers for a Thousand Years by Elizabeth Roberts and Elias Amidon

"Rain fell today
and somewhere lotus flowers are blossoming,
So are we.
Defying the impossible
in the shelter and warmth of each other's hearts,
extending the night, caressing the stars,
And knowing each other's hearts
is our human bliss"
