Cocktail Reception

Immediately following our ceremony we want guests to proceed to the cocktail reception. We are hoping to be able to have it on the beach with passed hor d'oeuvures and drinks. Right after the ceremony we want to be able to finish taking pictures and then mix and mingle with guests.

Reception and Dinner

I think we are planning for dinner around 7:00pm. So I am planning on having all of our guests enter the dining room first and then be introduced for the first time as husband and wife! I am thinking about going right into our 1st dance, do dinner, cut cake and then go into the parent dances. Then dancing will begin! Woo hoo!!

Menu -

We are having a full bar throughout the night and starting with hor d'oeuvres at the cocktail reception. During dinner the resort offers a 1st course with choices between salads and soups. I don't really feel the need to have anything other than a choice between a soup and salad, a main course, and then dessert. The cocktail reception is going to have plenty of appetizers. I think it will be more than enough food. For the main course I would like to do some different options for guests to choose from. I was thinking a surf 'n turf option with fillets and lobster tails, a chicken option, and a fish option (NOT SALMON)! St. Lucia is known for their sweet potatoes so I would really love that to be incorporated as well as regular poatatoes. I would love it if all of the food had a carribean feel and brings a lot of St. Lucian spices to it. For dessert we are obviously going to have our wedding cake but I was also thinking of doing a chocolate fondue station including different fruits, marshmellows, graham crackers, pound cake, and baked banana cheesecake. Since Zach and I both love fondue and had our first anniversary celebration at a Melting Pot so it fits pretty well!

Table Decor

I'm not sure just yet on the linens that the resort provides, so I am already planning on shipping linens to the hotel before we get there. I want to do 1 big rectangle table with Zach and I at the head of the table. I am thinking purple lamours for tablecloths with orange lamour napkins. I am also not sure on the chairs that will be provided, I am guessing they don't have chivari chairs but if they do I want to do a cerise lamour chair pad and if they don't I will use a chair sash tied around the back in a cerise lamour. I really want the table to be covered with tea lights and 3 centerpieces. I really love centerpieces that are rectangle shallow glass vases with flowers submerged in water and then the stems and long grass leaves bent around the top and stick out, so it looks like the flowers are wrapped in a big circle.

Seating

So after hunting for some time I came across the idea of using personalized sand dollars. The website I love again for this is www.shorechic.com. It definitely could be a DIY item but I have such terrible handwriting that it would look like a third grader did it! I would love to get the small treasure chest shaped boxes and fill them with sand at each person's seat and then stick their own personalized sand dollar.

Wedding Favors - We are going to do chocolate and caramel covered apples that look like tux's and bridal gowns and pashminas for all the ladies in purple, pink & orange, just in case it gets cold at night. Guests are also welcome to take their personalized sand dollar home!
